I can buy
the vodka to make me forget
the pills to change a mindset
the movies and songs to chase nightmares away
I can buy into a system that leads me astray.

I can buy
food to feed a physical hunger
dreams that others put together
false times and news and tailored pain
I can buy into a system that determines what\'s \"sane\".

I can buy
the physical, the material to meet society\'s needs
an image I purchase and unwritten rules I heed
Pretension, lies and insincerity to fit the mould
I can buy into a system that makes me cold.

I can buy into a system that breaks me
I can believe every lie they tell
I can swollow propaganda and cage the free
I can break the heart and spirit as well.

I have the choice
I don\'t have to fall
I\'ve made up my mind
I\'m breaking the wall

I won\'t buy into the system of shadows and dark
I\'ll keep my soul and personal mark
I create my own happiness, dreams of rain
I won\'t buy what\'s not mine, myself I remain.

It's good to know that you're not buying into the propaganda gas that our society seems to be passing more, and more. Perhaps this will open the eyes of others that have not yet learned to think for themselves...

i fucking love that line. we just have this weird consumerist mentality, and buy what we don't need. and what we end up purchasing breaks us down.
